Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! It is with great pride that I am your principal of Joseph E. Soehl Middle School. Our goal is to maintain a positive learning environment that focuses on student achievement and promotes life-long learning.

Our entire staff is dedicated to providing Soehl Middle School students with the best educational opportunities necessary for them to become successful and contributing members of our community. Our commitment at Soehl Middle School is to provide a safe and nurturing environment that will challenge our students to become innovative leaders.

Our teachers are committed to focusing on the individual needs of each child. Soehl Middle School utilizes the One to One technology on a daily basis in order to implement best practices in all of their respective classrooms. Teachers have the opportunity to collaborate with their instructional team on a daily basis in order to plan interdisciplinary lessons, interpret student data and to communicate with parents and guardians. Our guidance counselors and social workers assist our students each day by providing counseling, mentoring, character education, academic support and the coordination of parent conferences.

I will continue to build strong and meaningful relationship with parents, students and community partners. We will continue to provide academic experiences for our students and help them foster relationships so they can make real word connections. We are proud of our students and their accomplishments. It is critical to provide leadership opportunities, character education, technology, mentoring, enrichment activities in order to engage all of our students.

Our school community is dedicated to providing our students with the comprehensive educational experience they deserve. Soehl offers a wide variety of clubs, activities and athletic programs that students can join after school. Students are encouraged to participate in these extracurricular activities in order to showcase their interests and talents.

Soehl Middle School received the NJDOE 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant for the upcoming school year. This will provide our students with an opportunity to participate in an extended school day. Students will receive homework assistance, enrichment courses, recreation, community service learning, class trips, parenting events and a daily snack.

We consider it a privilege to work with your child each day and to provide them with the skills to unlock their highest potential. Out teachers, staff and parents are important partners in promoting the value of education for our students. I look forward to working with you as a team to help each student at Soehl Middle School have a successful school year.
